Fuel Economy Overview

The 2022 Nissan Rogue FWD achieves an EPA-estimated 33 MPG in combined city and highway driving, with 30 MPG in the city and 37 MPG on the highway. Powered by a 1.5L 3-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with a automatic (av-s8), this small sport utility vehicle 2wd features Front-Wheel Drive drive.

In terms of environmental impact, the 2022 Rogue FWD produces approximately 271 grams of CO2 per mile. This figure is measured under standardized EPA test conditions and represents tailpipe emissions only. For context, the average new vehicle sold in the United States produces approximately 400 grams of CO2 per mile, meaning this Rogue FWD performs better than the national average in this regard.

The estimated annual fuel cost for this vehicle is $1,800, based on 15,000 miles of driving per year and current national average fuel prices. Compared to the average new vehicle, you would spend $1,750 over a 5-year period. This calculation accounts for differences in fuel consumption efficiency and provides a practical measure of long-term ownership costs attributable to fuel economy.

Component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:HARD PARTS INTERNAL/MECHANICAL

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Rogue, 2019-2020 Altima, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50, and 2022 Infiniti QX55 vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L or 4-cylinder 2.0L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The engine bearings may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine failure.

Consequence & Remedy

Consequence: Engine failure increases the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.

Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or Infiniti's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25A8/A9 and R25B1/B2.
